Centre reiterates opposition to gay marriages

Marriage is recognised only between "a biological man and a biological woman" under the Indian law, the Centre told the Delhi HC, reiterating its stand. "Personal laws are settled, and marriage, which is contemplated, is between a biological man and a biological woman," SG Tushar Mehta said, opposing pleas seeking registration of same-sex marriages.
