Parliament passes bills to extend tenure of CBI, ED chiefs

The Parliament on Tuesday passed two bills to replace the ordinances promulgated in November to enable extension of tenure of the directors of the CBI and ED to a maximum of up to five years, which, junior personnel minister Jitendra Singh said has been done by the government to check corruption and ensure and enhance transparency.
