Delhi hits 40°C, ‘severe’ heatwave likely today

The mercury shot past 40 degrees Celsius at several weather stations in Delhi-NCR on Monday as heatwave-like conditions gripped the region, ringing in an early onset of summer in the capital and surrounding places that have been seeing a prolonged dry spell since the beginning of March.
