Maths not must for 1/3rd of engineering courses

Maths in Class XII is no more mandatory to apply for one-third of engineering courses, including architecture, bio-technology and fashion technology, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) announced on Tuesday. In its new guidelines for 2022-23, the AICTE also made chemistry in Class XII optional for studying computer science, electrical engineering and electronics engineering.
