Parl panel: Govt far from goal of doubling farmers’ income

parliamentary panel on agriculture in its report, tabled in Parliament on Thursday, noted that the government is far from its 2022 goal of doubling the income of farmers which the Centre had announced six years ago. The panel recommended that the ministry should formulate a "special team" to figure out the reasons for falling farmers' income in those states and take some "course corrective measures" so that the goal of doubling farmers' income is not lost sight of.
