A Supreme Court bench of Justices K M Joseph and Hrishikesh Roy agreed to examine this question on an appeal by an Arya Samaj organisation challenging a Madhya Pradesh HC direction to scrupulously follow requirements of SMA, under which it is mandatory to give prior intimation to parents of the couple intending to get married.
