Covid deaths lowest since first week of lockdown

India reported just around 80 Covid-19 deaths in the seven days ending Sunday, the lowest toll from the pandemic recorded in the country since the week when PM Modi had announced a total lockdown in the country over two years ago. Fresh cases of the coronavirus continued to decline for the 10th consecutive week, with the current week's tally dropping below the 10,000 mark for the first time since April 13-19, 2020.
