Baghel moots Priyanka to be Congress’s nominee for Rajya Sabha

Suspense peaked over Congress’s Rajya Sabha nominations with the delay in declaration of its official list of candidates and late-night meetings on Saturday between Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and party managers to finalise the names. There was renewed demand from Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel for Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s candidature and an announcement by ally Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) that it will not cede a seat to the grand old party which has triggered a battle of nerves.
