Monsoon progress may slow down after it hits Kerala: IMD

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had forecast the onset of monsoon over Kerala by around May 27, with a model error of plus or minus four days. Though the onset over Kerala may be around the predicted date this year, the monsoon progress thereafter is likely to be sluggish for some days, an expert said. An IMD official said further progress of the monsoon may slow down after its onset over Kerala.
