HC seeks govt stand on RTI seeking data on snooping

The Delhi HC on Tuesday sought the Centre's stand on a petition seeking disclosure under the Right to Information Act of "aggregate figures" on electronic surveillance after the Union home ministry said it did not retain such "sensitive" information beyond six months. It granted the Centre six weeks to file its response to the petition, which challenges a Central Information Commission (CIC) refusal to order disclosure of such data.
