Weekly Covid cases 6.5% up nationally, 37% in Delhi

Delhi registered a 37% rise in Covid cases in the week ending Sunday, breaking a three-week spell of declining infections, in a pattern of alternating rise and fall that is being seen in several other states during the current surge of the virus. Cases rose nationally for the ninth straight week, with nearly 1.37 lakh infections detected in the country in the last seven days (July 18-24), up 6.5% from the previous week. This is the highest weekly case tally since mid-February this year.
