Gujarat rolls out DNA test to confirm if meat is beef

Gujarat has become the first state in the country to roll out a rapid test that can confirm within an hour if meat seized on suspicion of being beef is from a cow. the Lamp DNA method - introduced in limited capacity in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar - is a better alternative to conventional methods like serological analysis and DNA analysis that take more than a day.
