Puducherry has bagged the top slot with the highest score of 65.9 in the country on the 'social progress index' for its remarkable performance across the index's components like personal freedom and choice, shelter, and water and sanitation. Lakshadweep and Goa closely follow it with scores of 65.8 and 65.5, respectively. Assam, Bihar and Jharkhand have scored the lowest, securing 44.9, 44.4, 43.9 respectively out of 100.
