Deciding what’s fake news can’t be in sole hands of govt: EGI

The Editors Guild of India on Wednesday expressed deep concern over the draft amendment to the Information Technology Rules framed by the ministry of electronics and IT and said the government should “expunge” portions where the rules ask social media companies to take down news articles as and when deemed “fake” by the Press Information Bureau (PIB).
