Farm to firm: More women at work, self-help groups hold key

The Economic Survey lauds the rise in rural Female Labour Force Participation Rate (FLFPR) from 19.7% in 2018-19 to 27.7% in 2020-21 as a “positive development” and suggests the time is right to upgrade their skills. It also says that India’s FLFPR is likely to be underestimated, with reforms in survey design and content required to capture data more accurately.
