BJP slams Kharge for calling PM ‘poisonous snake', he ‘clarifies’

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday stoked a political row by likening PM Narendra Modi to a “poisonous snake”, drawing a strong riposte from BJP which said such statements reflect “hate” for the PM and sought an apology from the opposition party. ​​Kharge later sought to clarify that his remarks were not aimed at the PM but at his party, while BJP trained its guns at the Congress chief.
