Modi govt’s bill to select CEC, ECs against Advani’s proposal: Cong

The Congress on Friday dug out an old letter written by veteran BJP leader L K Advani in March 2012 in which he had asked the then prime minister Manmohan Singh to include the leaders of opposition in the panel to select members of the constitutional bodies. The Congress censured the Modi dispensation for dropping the chief justice of India (CJI) from the panel to select the chief election commissioner (CEC) and election commissioners (ECs).
