Govt extends Afspa in parts of Arunachal, Nagaland for 6 months

The Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act has been extended in parts of Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, giving armed forces personnel sweeping powers in "disturbed areas" to maintain public order. The declaration was made by the Union Home Ministry and will be in effect for a period of six months, starting from October 1, 2023.
