Climate link to Central Asian invasions, suggests Gujarat dig

The past two millennia in India have witnessed seven invasions from Central Asia, believed to be influenced by climatic conditions. A recent study conducted by researchers from IIT Kharagpur, ASI, PRL, JNU, and Deccan College explored the impact of climate on these invasions. The study focused on archaeological excavations in Vadnagar, the hometown of PM Narendra Modi, where a continuous climatic record of 2,800 years was discovered. The research revealed a correlation between prosperous monsoons in India and major invasions from Central Asia, which occurred during periods of drought in the latter region.
